Actor Valeriu Cazacu passed away

The theater and film actor, Valeriu Cazacu, People's Artist, passed away this morning, at the age of 72. The announcement was made on the socialization page of the National Theater "Satiricus Ion Luca Caragiale".

"The Republic of Moldova has lost a great actor of theater and film. We mourn the disappearance of the great actor and express deep sorrow and sincere condolences to those close to him in connection with his death. The disappearance of Valeriu Cazacu leaves a huge gap in our theatrical life. History and all those who knew him will keep his memory alive," reads the post of the National Theater "Satiricus Ion Luca Caragiale".

Valeriu Cazacu was born on February 18, 1948, in Mateuţi. He is one of the founders of the "Satiricus Ion Luca Caragiale" National Theater, an emblematic actor of this theater, and previously performed at the "Mihai Eminescu" National Theater.

On the stages of both theaters he created memorable characters. He was also a highly sought after actor in cinema, playing about 40 roles in films of domestic and foreign production.

Valeriu Cazacu is one of the founders of the "Miniature Theater", where he played in over 100 sketches and skits, played in dozens of television and radio shows and dubbed over 40 roles in movies.
