A new performance for the "Cantemus" Choir from Chisinau

A new recognition of the performances of the Youth Choir "Cantemus" from Chisinau. The online participation in the International Choral Music Festival "Odessa Cantat" was appreciated by the jury with the Grand Prix, but also with the virtual applause of the spectators, reports Moldova 1.

Since 2008, when it was founded by conductor Denis Ceausov and other choral art enthusiasts, we have become accustomed to the Cantemus family of voices returning from festivals with awards, invitations to other events and international tours. This time, in pandemic conditions, they stayed at home and sent the recordings from the concerts to the fourth edition of the international festival "Odessa Cantat".

The performance of the Moldovan choir was appreciated by the international jury in all departments: contemporary choral music, religious music, folk music. Thus, the "Cantemus" Choir gathered a maximum score and won the Grand Prize. The "Odessa Cantat" festival, which took place online for the first time, brought together 26 choirs. The Republic of Moldova was also represented by the choral band "Belcanto" from Soroca, appreciated with the first prize, as well as "Doremicii" from Chisinau, with the second prize. During this time, while staying at home, the students of the "Cantemus" Choir participated in virtual lessons and rehearsals, gathered their voices at home and sent a message of goodwill online to doctors who are fighting to save people's lives.

This summer, the choir had planned several important contests and tours, but all were canceled due to the pandemic. However, some surprises follow, according to conductor Denis Ceausov. According to him, soon, the voices of teenagers will resonate in the context of a virtual international project "Vox mundi", in translation - "Voice of the world".
