The book "Moldova: people, places, cuisine and wine", 1st prize at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards

In these times of uncertainty and isolation, we also have good news in the field of culture. The album book "Moldova: people, places, cuisine and wine", by journalist Angela Braşoveanu and the master photographer Roman Rybaleov, was awarded the first prize at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2020, the XXV edition, reports Moldova 1.

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards is the most important worldwide competition for gastronomy and wine books in which editorial appearances from 230 countries have been selected. Such books, say the organizers, enrich the horizons of knowledge of people on different meridians, bring them closer and make them happier in these difficult times. The book "Moldova, people, places, cuisine and wine", through Angela Brasoveanu's comments and Roman Rubaliov's images, offers readers an exceptional journey through the traditional Moldovan cuisine, the chosen wines, the places and the wonderful people from these regions. The first prize of the authors from Moldova is followed by the books of the authors from Hungary, Australia and Croatia. It is a beautiful achievement, says Angela Braşoveanu.

"It is a surprise, an honor and a joy. I did not expect my book to be found by the president of the jury in China at the Romanian stand. An honor that I am among the best in the world. It is a human joy because when the work of three years is recognized at such a level you can only enjoy it. For me it is more important to work so well that I like it, then if anyone likes what I do, it is a double joy,” said Angela Braşoveanu.

There will be two awards ceremony. One will take place in Paris, and another in China. It will happen after the danger of coronavirus and the state of emergency. In 2019, the book "Moldova, people, places, cuisine and wine" was awarded with the Excellence Award at the Gala GastroArt & Vinul.ro, the largest festival of its kind in Romania. The volume is appearing in French and English.
