Friday of Young Poets at the "Onisifor Ghibu" Library

The restrictions of having contact with the readers and the impossibility to organize events with the public forced them to diversify their activity, to look for solutions and even to acquire new professions. We are talking about the employees of the "Onisifor Ghibu" Library in Chisinau, who propose to readers a new video project entitled "Friday of Young Poets", Moldova 1 reports.

"The library has always been a generator of ideas, events. I started a meeting with young poets. This dialogue is moderated by Augustina Visan, a student, but also a member of the Vlad Ioviţă Cenacle. She found it appropriate to form this inhabited bridge between her, a novice librarian, but with a lot of initiative, and beginner poets," declared the director of the "Onisifor Ghibu" Library, Vitalie Răileanu.

Right from the beginning of the pandemic, the online activity of the "Onisifor Ghibu" Library began with Vitalie Răileanu's Thursday dialogues with personalities in the field of culture. And the one who makes the videos, the posters for the events is Valentina Astafi, who learned to film and edit the video material. Valentina is the author of the campaign promotion spots.

As the team of librarians look for new ways to promote reading, readers continue to come for books.

"The service of the readers takes place remotely, respecting all the restrictions. The returned books are stored in the box for three days and after that they are distributed on the shelf," said Mircea Ciochină, employee at the library.

In the book launch room and literary circles, conditions are created to accommodate a small number of readers.
