Street lighting in Sangerei district with the support of the diaspora

They did not forget their home and decided to contribute to the development of the villages where they were born from thousands of kilometers away - we are talking about several Moldovans settled abroad, who mobilized and donated money for their localities to benefit from street lighting. Thus, four villages in Sangerei district will look safer for the locals. In total, with the help of the diaspora, the amount of 59 thousand lei was collected, Moldova 1 reports.

At present, the inhabitants of Pepeni village, Sângerei district, enjoy street lighting. Soon, in the villages of Pepenii Noi, Romanovca and Răzălăi, the modernization works of the localities will be launched. People welcome the initiative and hope that from now on they will feel safer on the streets.

According to local authorities, the street lighting projects include a total of 350 lanterns.

"We went with an information campaign in the first place, we also consulted with the people in the village, practically all the projects that are implemented today require the contribution of the local public administration and the villagers. We have two contributions, one from Italy and one from Spain," said the mayor of Pepeni commune, Oleg Rotaru.

The cost for the implementation of the street lighting project in the four localities is 500,000 lei. Half of the amount was allocated by the Government, and the other half is the contribution of the people from the village, of the natives settled abroad, but also of the local authorities.
