Moldovan in the US: The virus caught me away from home, obviously I'm afraid

Our conational, Ingrid Bîrcă, is currently in a difficult time for humanity in the United States (USA). She says those overseas have taken all the necessary actions and urges those at home to take care of them and be cautious, reports Radio Moldova News.

Ingrid says the situation across the ocean is quite worrying, as the numbers have increased rapidly and effectively overnight. Even the busiest cities and metropolises are now deserted, virtually all institutions are closed, airlines no longer make international flights, people stay in homes, and occasionally you can see a man walking in the park or playing sports.

The young woman tells that the authorities try to be lenient with the residents, to offer them financial support, to exempt them from paying certain taxes or to postpone the deadline for paying the income tax. And the country's leadership has resorted to federal reserves, where billions of dollars have been taken from to support citizens and businesses.

According to official data, in the US, there are approximately 312,000 infected persons, and over 8,450 have died.
