$400,000 for the improvement of the National Library’s digitization equipment

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the signing of the grant agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation on the implementation of the Project "Improvement of the digitization equipment of the National Library".

The Japanese government will allocate 43.7 million Japanese yen, the equivalent of $400,000, as a grant for the purchase and installation of equipment and consulting services.

A press release issued by the Government reads that at present, there is an acute need of the National Library of the Republic of Moldova to preserve the historical, cultural and general interest resources of our country available in the library and in the partner institutions and to increasing accessibility to these resources for citizens.
