Drivers who practice illicit passenger transport have come under the scrutiny of tax inspectors

The activity of passenger car carriers on international routes has come under the scrutiny of the State Fiscal Service (SFS). This is after, during the years 2019 - 2020, the SFS undertook several actions to accumulate evidence regarding the undeclared income of individuals who illegally practice the activity of international passenger carrier. As a result, according to SFS, in the case of five individuals, the verifications were finalized and additional fiscal obligations in the amount of 375.8 thousand lei were calculated in the budget.

According to a press release of the STS, the actions of the tax authority are aimed at informing taxpayers about the provisions of the legislation in force meant to help prevent cases of evasion from the payment of tax obligations.

"If the taxpayer refuses voluntary compliance, under the provisions of the legislation in force, enforcement measures are applied," reads the statement.

In this context, the STS recommends all economic agents and individuals carrying out economic activity to comply with the provisions of the legislation in force.
