Lonely elderly and socially vulnerable families will benefit from lump sums

Families that do not have a source of income, those in which only one member works, families in which there are persons with disabilities, lonely old people, can benefit from a single, annual aid, worth six thousand lei, reports Radio Moldova.

The applicants must submit a request to the social worker from the settlement, and then a commission evaluates the needs of the person.

The financial support is offered to the beneficiary once a year. The amount can be raised in full or during six months, and the way the money is spent shall meet the needs showed in the request.

This year, 14 million lei were allocated for the material aid. Last year, over 3200 people received a single aid amounting to six thousand lei.
