The World Bank will allocate $3.5 million for the purchase of computers

The World Bank will allocate through the Education Reform Project in Moldova (PRIM) $3.5 million for the acquisition of computer technology needed to digitize educational institutions in our country, reads a statement issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.

"The COVID-19 virus pandemic made us review our priority objectives on the agenda of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research. Currently, our actions are focused on equipping educational institutions with computer technology and training teachers in using more efficently the ICT. We appreciate the promptness and openness you have shown in supporting this desideratum," said Igor Sharov, Minister of Education, Culture and Research.

The representatives of the World Bank in the Republic of Moldova further expressed their full openness for cooperation and support to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research to overcome the challenges posed by the educational pandemic.

The project "Education Reform in Moldova" is implemented between April 2013 and April 2022. The total budget of the project is $50 million. PRIM is an investment loan, financed by the World Bank.
