Negotiations with Russia on granting of half a million euros credit

Finance Minister Sergiu Puscuta is due to have a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Anton Siluanov, to discuss the details about granting of a 500 million euro loan to the Republic of Moldova. This was announced by President Igor Dodon, in a video posted on Facebook, made in Israel, where he participates in the World Holocaust Forum.

"In the coming days, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Moldova is going to have a meeting with the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, to elaborate all the details about the credit that we agreed with President Putin at the end of last year," said Igor Dodon.

Last November, Prime Minister Ion Chicu, following a working visit to Moscow, announced that the Russian side will grant Moldova a loan of half a million euros, for the implementation of infrastructure projects, a part of it being redirected for the reconstruction of roads in Moldova. For now, it is not certain whether this money reaches Moldova, as the parties will discuss and negotiate the credit conditions.
