The lawsuit regarding the declaration of insolvency of Avia Invest, rejected
The lawsuit regarding the declaration of insolvency of the "Avia Invest" Company was rejected on May 26 by the magistrates of the Chisinau Court. The Civil Aeronautical Authority informs that the action was stopped at its request, as a result of the debt settlement of over 22 million lei. However, Avia Invest is set to appear in court in another lawsuit. This is after the Public Property Agency acted for non-fulfillment of investment obligations. While Avia Invest says that "it is the victim of political pressures", the representatives of the Government urge the company to honor in time the commitments from the concession contract, reports Moldova 1.
"The airport administration informs the public about the fact that, on May 26, the Chisinau court issued a decision on the refusal to initiate an insolvency declaration process and returned the request to the Civil Aviation Authority in this regard, without taking it into account. Avia Invest reiterates that there is absolutely no reason to initiate insolvency proceedings or cancel the concession contract. We are confident that all the lawsuits that started in the Republic of Moldova against Avia Invest, as well as the lawsuit at the Arbitration Court of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce will put an end to all illegal actions of the authorities against the company and its shareholders," mentions Avia Invest in a statement.
Asked to comment on the new lawsuit, the company's representatives said they would come back with a reaction later, but previously mentioned that they would be subject to political pressure.
In this context, Vitalie Dragancea, adviser to the Prime Minister, stated that the only request to Avia Invest would be to honor its commitments in the concession contract in time.
"I would urge the management of Avia Invest to follow that it has many more queues and to honor in time and in full its commitments derived from the concession contract and those deriving from the national legal framework", said Vitalie Dragancea.
On May 15, Avia Invest filed an action in the Stockholm Arbitration Court against the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
