Infographic: Salary of a beginner judge in 2018 was on average 10 thousand euros

The gross salary of a beginner judge, in 2018, was on average 10 thousand 700 euros annually. The figure is three times higher than in 2013 and is 5 times lower than the Council of Europe average. An infographic showing the salaries of judges and prosecutors was published by the Center for Legal Resources (CRJM) of Moldova.

Ukrainian judges received salaries lower lower than the Moldovan judges in 2018. The beginner judges in Ukraine received over seven thousand euros annually, gross salary. Beginner judges in Germany received the highest gross annual salary in 2018 - over 47 thousand euros annually and judges in Estonia - over 41 thousand euros annually.

Beginner judges in Romania received 29 thousand euros annually, and beginner judges in Russia - over 18.6 thousand euros.

According to the CRJM data, between 2016 and 2018, the salary of beginner prosecutors in Moldova increased by 71%. In 2018, the salary of beginner prosecutors in Moldova was three times lower than the average of the Council of Europe.
