Andrey Goncharenko states that he has no doubts about the legitimacy of the airport concession agreement

Avia-Invest, which manages the Chisinau International Airport, comes with a series of details regarding the information recently published in the press, which targets Andrey Goncharenko, the new beneficiary "Komaksavia Airport Invest" Ltd., which owns 95% of Avia-Invest shares.

Thus, through a press release, Andrey Goncharenko stated that the information published in the press in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the allegations that he has problems with justice in the Russian Federation are not grounded.

"I declare with full responsibility that I do not hide from the justice of any country. I continue to carry out my business activity, and at present I am in Moscow. Earlier, I announced publicly about the intentions I have in relation to Chisinau International Airport and I will reiterate them whenever it is needed,” reads the statement.

The investments for the modernization of the Chisinau International Airport will be made only under a favorable investment climate and with the support of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the businessman mentioned.

"The statements of the authorities of the executive power regarding an alleged illegality of the concession agreement are surprising, because they violate the principle of separation of powers. The recognition of the legality of any contract is an exclusive prerogative of the courts, which have repeatedly expressed themselves in this regard. Any actions of the officials, which contravene the court decisions, pursue populist purposes, will have legal consequences and will be challenged in international courts,” reads the statement issued by Avia Invest.

Andrey Goncharenko states that he has no doubts about the legitimacy of the agreement and the presence of serious legal arguments in a worldwide legal dispute.

Chisinau International Airport was given in concession in 2013. In September 2019, the Public Services Agency challenged the airport concession contract, requesting its cancellation on the grounds that the objective was given in concession contrary to the interests of the state.
