Youth in agriculture can benefit from funding

Youth and students in agriculture can benefit this year from a grant of 700 thousand lei, money offered by the US Agency for International Development, through the Performant Agriculture for Moldova project. Inga Burlacu, communication specialist in the USAID Performant Agriculture for Moldova project said that applications for participation can be submitted until December 23, Radio Moldova reports.

“A grant can range from 150 thousand up to 350 thousand lei. In order to apply for financing, educational institutions, public associations, producers' associations, economic agents in the agricultural field can submit applications. Activities that could be financed: developing partnerships for conducting internships between educational institutions and economic agents, short-term training programs for young people, educational programs, continuous training for employees of some companies, start-ups”, he said. Inga Burlacu.

Also, Inga Burlacu said that an information session will be organized on November 14 to explain to potential applicants about the application procedures.

About a quarter of the 397,500 young employees work in agriculture, the largest employment sector of young people.
