The Presidency's reaction to the CEC's decision
The presidency of the Republic of Moldova came today with a reaction to the decision of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) yesterday, after being warned about the inadmissibility of involvement in the electoral campaign for the February parliamentary elections.
"As mentioned before, the attacks on the presidential institution continue and will continue to be even more intense until the end of the electoral campaign. We reiterate that the elected president has decided not to get involved in this electoral struggle in order not to be the target of the polemics of various political actors in the country who rely on this informational ping-pong to raise their own personal ranks. We call on all electoral candidates to realize their potential in this election based on their ideas, proposals, strategies, and not the attempts to enter into controversy with the presidential institution and the president himself," the presidential press release said.
TRM.MD recalls that the Moldovan Presidency was warned by the CEC about the inadmissibility of involvement in the electoral campaign for the February 24th parliamentary elections. This after the Liberal Party and the Political Party "Shor" informed the electoral authority in that regard.
