CEC: Electoral lists for the new parliamentary elections are the same as for local elections

The Central Election Commission (CEC) informs that the electoral lists for the new parliamentary elections, which include all citizens with voting rights residing on the territory of the polling stations in the uninominal electoral constituencies no. 17 and 33, are the same as the ones used in general local elections.

Under the art. VI of Law no.113 / 2019, the new parliamentary elections are conducted in accordance with the regulations of the legislation in force until modifications to the Electoral Code are adopted, where the CEC was not obliged to publish the electoral lists in the format indicated in art. 45 paragraph (1). For this reason, the CEC decided not to publish separate lists for general local and new parliamentary elections, but only for general local elections.

Also, the electoral legislation stipulates that citizens with voting rights from the uninominal constituencies no. 48 and 50 can participate in elections in any of the polling stations opened in these constituencies, which is why, these voters are included in additional electoral lists.

The CEC reminds that by  October 19 inclusively, the voters can check the correctness of drawing up electoral rolls both in the polling stations and online, by accessing the official website of the Commission www.cec.md or on the page www.verifica.cec. md.
