Travel warning for France

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Romania informs Romanian citizens who are transiting or intending to travel to the French Republic that the unions of SNCF (National Railway Company) and RATP (Autonomous Administration of Parisian Transport) have announced a strike day for Monday, February 17, 2020, reports news.ro.

According to the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there will be disruptions in the rail, urban and interurban traffic, as well as in the road network.

At the same time, the French unions called for a new day of national mobilization against the pension reform for Thursday, February 20, 2020.

Romanian citizens can inform themselves in real time about the situation in Parisian transports and the Ile-de-France area on the RATP site.

The forecasts regarding the traffic schedules will be communicated on the SNCF website a day before, at 5:00 pm.

Romanian citizens can request consular assistance on the telephone numbers of the Romanian Embassy in Paris: +33147052966 and +33147052755, the calls being redirected to the Contact and Support Center of the Romanian Citizens from abroad (CCSCRS) and taken over by the Call Center operators on a permanent basis. 

Also, the Romanian citizens facing a difficult, special situation, with an emergency character, have the following permanent telephone numbers available: The Embassy of Romania in the French Republic: +33680713729, the Consulate General of Romania in Marseille: +33610027164, the Consulate General of Romania in Lyon: +33643627736 and the Consulate General of Romania in Strasbourg: +33627050022, to which they can call depending on the area in which they are located.
