The Chinese are preparing for the Mid-Autumn Festival

Tens of thousands of people in China went home to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is one of the most important traditional holidays, along with the Chinese New Year. The festival is celebrated with music, dances and selected food, informs Moldova 1.

On this occasion, the Chinese also received 11 days of vacation. Many of them packed their bags and set off, and the authorities decided to put another 1,200 trains on their tracks to cope with the flow of passengers.

"The number of passengers starts to increase at the end of September, which is eight times higher than in a normal month," said Xu Guangqing, deputy chief of Ejina station.

There is also a lot of hustle in shops and markets, and this crab farmer claims that this year the demand exceeds the supply

"The price of crabs varies between 80-90 yuani, it is much higher than last year. We collect two tons a day and it is still not enough for the market ", said Shen Yunjie, director of a fish farm.

The services offered by the catering companies where the chefs work hard are also in great demand.

"Production volume is based on orders, we have prepared almost a ton and a half of mini cakes," said Zhou Guangjun, director of the catering company.

The traditional Chinese festival "Mid-Autumn", or the Moon Festival, as it is also called, is marked in the middle of the autumn season. The holiday dates back over three thousand years. This year the festival will start on 1 October and will last seven days.
