About 100 injured after two trains collided in Spain
At least one person died, and many others were injured after two trains collided on Friday, near the Spanish city of Barcelona, sources from intervention agencies say.
Two regional trains have collided between the towns of Sant Vicenç de Castellet and Manresa, located northwest of Barcelona.
At least one person died, according to sources from the Spanish Interior Ministry, quoted by the daily El Mundo. Another 94 people were injured in the accident, two of them in critical condition, the El Pais daily reported.
Hundreds of passengers of the two trains were evacuated immediately after the collision occurred.
Numerous ambulances and police cars were mobilized at the site of the railway accident.
The authorities are trying to find the circumstances of the frontal collision.
