Italy bans people from 13 countries from entering its land

Italy has banned the entry into the country of people from 13 countries that have a large number of cases of COVID-19, including the Republic of Moldova, Reuters reports, quoted by news.ro.

The list also includes Armenia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, Kuwait, Northern Macedonia, Oman, Panama, Peru and the Dominican Republic.

The ban applies to anyone who has stayed or traveled in these countries in the last 14 days.

Travelers from all countries outside the European Union and the Schengen area can enter Italy, but must be quarantined for 14 days.

Italy was the first European country to be severely affected by the Coronavirus epidemic since it broke out on 21 February.

In Italy, there have been almost 35,000 deaths due to the new Coronavirus, but the daily toll of deaths and new cases has fallen sharply compared to the peak of the epidemic in March.

On Thursday, the Civil Protection Agency announced 12 deaths in the last 24 hours, down from 15 the day before, while the number of new cases rose from 193 to 229.
