With more than 21,000 infections worldwide in the last 24 hours, the pandemic does not seem to be receding. The World Health Organization (WHO) urges solidarity, saying the virus is a common enemy of the world. At the same time, the WHO director states that there are nine candidates who have submitted their portfolios to certify vaccines.
The United Kingdom is the European country with the highest level of deaths caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, reporting over 41,000 deaths. The British authorities have decided that people from France and the Netherlands will be quarantined for two weeks. The measure was taken as a result of the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the two countries. At the same time, all people entering Greece by land and sea must present a negative test for the new type of Coronavirus as of next Monday.
In Italy, the prime minister and six ministers are under criminal investigation for the way they handled the Coronavirus epidemic, following several complaints.
Spain also is reporting almost 3,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours alone.
