Coronavirus: Romania has exceeded 5,000 daily cases

In the last 24 hours, 5,288 new cases of COVID-19 were reported by the authorities, out of 35,351 tests performed. Another 82 Romanians died due to the infection with the new Coronavirus, while 782 COVID patients are hospitalized for intensive care, writes digi24.ro.

To date, on October 23, in Romania, 201,032 cases of people infected with the new Coronavirus (COVID - 19) have been confirmed.

144,429 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 5,028 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test.

The rate of Coronavirus infection in Bucharest and Alba is increasing, while Harghita is the fourth county to reach three infections per thousand inhabitants.

Aside from the newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 876 people were reconfirmed positively.

To date, 6,245 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection died.
