Hundreds of people were arrested during a march in Minsk

Hundreds of people were arrested on Saturday during a women's march in Minsk against President Alexander Lukashenko, writes digi24.ro.

Police tried to block the way for women demanding the resignation of the Belarusian leader. They were abducted by law enforcement, who were dressed in uniforms without official emblems.

One by one, hundreds of women were taken and put into vans. Among those arrested is a 73-year-old woman, Nina Baghinskaya, who has become a symbol of protests against Alexander Lukashenko after she was filmed at one point fearlessly confronting police.

From the re-election of Lukashenko as president to the August 9 election, people take to the streets every day to demand his resignation and new, free and fair elections.
