Heatwave strikes southwestern Europe

Heat temperatures were recorded in southwest Europe. In Portugal and Spain, mercury thermometers soared to +37℃. According to meteorologists, there is a hot wave of air from Africa heading to the continent, reports Moldova 1.

The Spaniards had a “weekend of fire”. The beaches were stormed, and the brave ones took a bath in the sea.

In the Iberian Peninsula, there is an unusual heat wave for this period of the year. In some cities mercury thermometers climbed to +37℃ - the temperature that is typically recorded in the second half of June.

"It's very hot, too hot for this time of the year," says a man.

It's summer also in Portugal, with +36℃ in thermometers, people chose to relax on the beach and catch a chocolate bronze

"Summer comes early and leaves late and that's good for us all," says a young woman.

Some areas, including the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, were placed under yellow warning. According to meteorologists, the temperatures will increase significantly in several European countries in the coming days.
