The Chronicle of the Chernobyl Events, in the "Good Evening"

33 years ago, on April 26, 1986, in Chernobyl, there was a nuclear accident that generated an explosion equal to 500 nuclear bombs. This disaster is considered to be the worst accident in the history of nuclear energy. The catastrophe has destroyed millions of lives, and because of the terrible radiation, children are still born with serious malformations. About the consequences of that tragic event we are talking today at the "Good Evening" show on Moldova 1.

The evening's guests are Boris Gâlcă, State Secretary General, Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Tudor Căpăţână, President of the Chernobyl Union of Moldova and Iulian Ciocan, Radio Free Europe journalist.

Together, we will make an incursion over time and talk about the causes of this tragedy and the actions that were then taken by the Soviet authorities. At the same time, we will learn how the Republic of Moldova was affected by the Chernobyl nuclear incident.

Watch the show "Good Evening" starting at 19:55 on the public television channel Moldova 1 and online on TRM.MD.
