"Rapsodia Satului": 2020 - the year of challenges for farmers

This week began with protests in Stefan-Voda and Causeni. Farmers there have called on the authorities to declare a state of emergency in agriculture so that they can be exempted from paying taxes this year. Why do the farmers consider that the situation is extremely serious in their localities and that it is necessary to establish a state of force majeure, but also what is the position of the authorities on Sunday at the "Rapsodia Satului".

This year, the unfavorable weather conditions in the spring - the drought, the late frosts, but also the COVID-19 pandemic - gave the winemakers a bit of a headache. Currently, grape fruit is late in ripening, some varieties are facing disease, and older vine plantations have simply dried up. We will talk about the current situation in agriculture with the director of the National Office of Vine and Wine, Gheorghe Arpentin.

Things are no better for those who grow corn and sunflowers. What is the situation of the two cultures at present in a household from Cimişeni village, Criuleni district, see on Sunday,  on Moldova 1.

We could say that any man's household starts at the gate. This is demonstrated in a very inspired way by the inhabitants of Sadaclia village, Basarabeasca district. They gave up the traditional design of the gates and began to turn them into real works of art. As the gates of the local households look like, we invite you to find out, on Sunday, at the "Rapsodia Satului".

Watch "Rapsodia Satului", with Natalia Palii, on Sunday, August 2, starting at 14:00, on Moldova 1 and online on trm.md.
