Angela Merkel congratulated Maia Sandu for taking over as prime minister of Moldova
German Chancellor Angela Merkel congratulated Maia Sandu for taking office as Prime Minister of Moldova and expressed hope that in the near future they would meet in Berlin, reports Radio Moldova.
According to TASS, this is mentioned in a telegram from the head of the German government, the text of which was distributed by the press service of the German Cabinet of Ministers.
"Your country is now facing serious political and economic challenges. The German Government will be glad to support you in your aspirations to pursue pro-European, democratic and forward-looking reforms," Angela Merkel said.
"I would be glad to have the opportunity to receive you in Berlin in the near future," the chancellor stressed.
