Former Minister of Health, accused of closing several laboratories

16 of 26 state medical laboratories were allegedly closed by former Health Minister Ruxanda Glavan. This is the statement made by the socialist deputy, Vladimir Odnostalco, who published on his Facebook page the order signed by Ruxanda Glavan four years ago. This, in the context in which, in the simple motion submitted by the parliamentary group Pro Moldova, one of the criticisms brought to the government would be the insufficient number of laboratories. Contacted by Moldova 1, the deputy of the Pro Moldova parliamentary group, Ruxanda Glavan, does not deny the information, but says that during her time as Minister of Health she made decisions only for the benefit of the health system, reports Moldova 1.

Deputy Vladimir Odnostalco writes on his Facebook page that the authors of the simple motion, which was filed against the Minister of Health, Viorica Dumbrăveanu and of the policies promoted in the field of health, reproach that there are an insufficient number of epidemiological laboratories. However, the Socialist deputy says that in fact, on March 25, 2016, as Minister of Health, Ruxanda Glavan ordered the liquidation of 16 of the 26 state medical laboratories. Likewise, Odnostalco states that the existing laboratories are not adequately equipped.

On the other hand, contacted by Moldova 1, Ruxanda Glavan mentioned that she arrived as Minister of Health because she would have promoted the necessary changes in the system.

"I became Minister of Health, not because I was comfortable and docile, but because my field is known and I know what changes are needed. I understand that Vladimir Odnostalco and his colleagues are preparing for the simple motion which, according to the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, must be discussed this week," said Ruxanda Glavan.

TRM.MD recalls that on June 18, at the sitting of the Parliament, the Pro Moldova deputies submitted a simple motion regarding the government's policies in the field of public health. The President of the Parliament, Zinaida Greceanâi, mentioned that it is to be examined by the Legal Department and debated at the Permanent Bureau within 14 working days from the submission.
