PPPDA faction rules on setting moratorium on the Bill of the Billion

The faction of the Platform of Dignity and Truth (PPDA) comes with a legislative proposal that provides for establishing a moratorium on implementing the Bill of the Billion.

The MPs propose that this moratorium be instituted and functioning until all the means of investigation and recovery of stolen money are exhausted. Also, Alexandru Slurari said he hopes that this moratorium will turn into an annulment of the law.

"The draft budget for 2020, proposed by the Dodon Government, provides for the citizens of Moldova to contribute to the payment of stolen money. In this context, the intervention of the Parliament is required in order to stop the issuance of the state bonds for the guarantees, for the emergency loans and their payment from the state budget ”, said the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alexandru Slusari.

We remind that, in August 2016, the Filip Government, by assuming responsibility, adopted the package of laws by which the missing money from the banking system was transformed into a state debt. Subsequently, the laws were promulgated by former President Nicolae Timofti.

By converting the state guarantees into public debt, bonds worth 13.6 billion lei were issued, for a period of 25 years, with the interest rate of 5%.
