The government, accused of tolerating illegalities committed on the left bank of the Dniester

The current government tolerates the illegalities committed by the separatist regime on the left bank of the Dniester. The statement was made by the deputies of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), who say that the authorities would turn a blind eye to the unilateral decisions of Tiraspol, all in order for the head of state Igor Dodon to ensure a good score in the autumn campaign. On the other hand, the presidential institution describes the statements as unfounded, and those from PAS when they were in power did not stand out in any way in terms of resolving the Transnistrian dispute. Moreover, during a telephone conversation with Igor Dodon, the so-called leader from Tiraspol, Vadim Krasnoselski, stated that half of the control stations have already been dismantled, reports Moldova 1.

"The current government, namely President Dodon, very often talks about sovereignty, about the Constitution, the fact that he would be the guarantor of the Constitution, but when it comes to the Transnistrian issue, or even more so when it comes to the presence of the Russian military in Transnistria, the president Dodon takes water in his mouth," declares the PAS deputy, Mihai Popşoi.

The "Pro Moldova" Party also issued a statement calling for the start of official negotiations with the Russian Federation for the withdrawal of troops and ammunition from the Transnistrian region. In reply, contacted by Moldova 1, the head of the presidency's press service, Carmena Sterpu, said that right-wing parties would never have been able to offer adequate and realistic solutions to the Transnistrian problem, but only accentuated it. At the same time, the institution emphasizes that, we quote, “radical approaches have led to the provocation of the conflict on the Dniester in 1992 and to repeated tensions since then. The people from PAS were in power in 2019 and did not stand out for anything concrete about Transnistria, and today they only sterilely provoke spirits before the elections," reads the statement.

Regarding the illegal checkpoints installed in the Security Zone, PAS representatives say that this would have been done precisely to ensure Dodon votes in the presidential election, a statement categorized by the presidency as a background noise. At the same time, the head of state, Igor Dodon, spoke on Monday with Vadim Krasnoselsky, who specified that Tiraspol had installed a total of 31 such stations, but after the lifting of the state of emergency in Transnistria, half of them were removed. However, the so-called leader says the rest of the posts will not be removed as long as the epidemiological situation does not improve. The head of state, Igor Dodon, says that all these issues will be addressed during the bilateral meeting with Krasnoselsky, which would take place at the end of July.

TRM.MD recalls that during the state of emergency, Tiraspol illegally installed over 30 posts around the localities under the control of the constitutional authorities, and the attempts of the military observers from the Joint Peacekeeping Forces to travel on the spot, to regularly document the violations, were blocked each time by the Transnistrian side. Recently, the Unified Control Commission announced that the Transnistrian side refused to examine, at the meeting of the structure, the issue related to conducting a complex analysis of the situation in the security zone. No solution was found for the deployment of military observers to search for illegally installed posts.
