Igor Dodon will not sign the recall of the Moldovan ambassador to Moscow

President Igor Dodon will not sign the decree of recall of the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Moscow, Andrei Neguţă, if the Government takes such a decision. The statement was made in a live interview on his Facebook page. The head of state claims that Neguta is one of the best diplomatic workers in the entire Moldovan staff reserve. He is accused of things that do not correspond to reality. Igor Dodon also says he will call the world to protests, if this is the reason why a new suspension of his position will be decided, Moldova 1 reports.

"It is an attempt to take another step, an anti-Russia action, an action that does not correspond to the national interest, it is an attempt to make the geopolitical game again and to place the messages on the geopolitical branch. I do not want destabilization now, but if they try, I'll call the world in the street," the president said.

He does not exclude that investigations were initiated against Ambassador Andrei Neguţa, who was recalled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) for consultations.

Commenting on the information in the press, according to which the ambassador offered offices to the Party of Socialists, the president rejected the probability that the diplomat had committed violations.

Last week, MFAEI asked the Executive to recall the Moldovan ambassador to Russia, Andrei Neguţă. He was the head of the Chisinau diplomatic mission in 2009-2012, and until his appointment in 2017, he was deputy in the faction of the Party of Socialists of Moldova. Yesterday the MFAEI confirmed that it was conducting a check at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Moscow.
