Maia Sandu: "It's time to set the increase of the minimum pension as a national objective"

The leader of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Maia Sandu, announced during a press briefing that the increase of pensions will be a national goal, if she becomes president, so that no pensioner will have less than 2,000 lei. According to Maia Sandu, at present, 387,000 people in the country have a pension of less than 2,000 lei, and almost 72% of pensioners live below the poverty line, reports Moldova 1.

"It is time to set as a national goal to increase the minimum pension to 2,000 lei. As President, I will urge Parliament, regardless of the ideologies of the parties in Parliament, to assume this goal by a joint decision of all Members. It is time to unite society around such common national goals. Regardless of the language spoken or ethnicity, political ideology or age, we all want our parents, our grandparents to have good pensions and to live with dignity," said the PAS leader, Maia Sandu.
