Identifying those who stole the billion would not be in the interest of the current government, statement

Identifying and punishing those who stole the billion would not be in the interest of the current government. It is the statement made by the members of the Unirea political movement, who say that the money would continue to be stolen from the banking system, reports Moldova 1.

"We do not want to investigate those who stole the billion. They are probably still in favor of the regime, it has only changed as a name, but not as an essence because at that time the billion was stolen and no one has been punished so far. Dodon and his team are encouraged to steal further by other methods, but through other money, that is, they continue to steal the population. This state is stolen by those who do not want the union," said Vitalia Pavlicenco, PNL member.

"From the only bank that remains ours, of the ordinary people, the National Bank of Moldova is like an altar in the church, this bank for a state and here they want to take out 6 billion lei to wash them in the election. Why do we have to tolerate the governments that put their hand in the pocket of the citizens, because at the National Bank it is not Dodon's money,” said Dorin Chirtoaca

The presidential institution qualified the statements of the Political Movement Union as political and electoral speculation. TRM.MD recalls that, last week, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, announced an initiative proposing to exempt citizens from paying the debt for the billion stolen from the banking system. Later, Prime Minister Ion Chicu explained that part of the loan of 20 billion lei will be paid out of the profit of the National Bank of Moldova and that this mechanism has been agreed by the experts of the International Monetary Fund. According to the calculations, this year, citizens will be exempted from paying 215-225 million lei from this debt.
