No parliamentary faction has filed a motion of censure against the Chicu government

No parliamentary faction has filed a motion of censure against the Chicu Government, which on Thursday, July 9, assumed responsibility for a set of laws, including the rectification of the state budget. An announcement in this regard was made by Prime Minister Ion Chicu during a briefing. According to the prime minister, the 72 hours expired yesterday, July 12.

"The epic is over. Yesterday, the 72 hours that the deputies had at their disposal to file a motion of censure against the Government, so against the four bills for which I took responsibility, expired. Mrs. Greceanii informed me today that no parliamentary faction submitted the motion of censure," said the prime minister Ion Chicu.

According to the Prime Minister, the respective projects are to be signed and sent to the President of the Republic of Moldova for promulgation.

"The drafts are to be signed and sent to the President for promulgation. I hope that during the week they will be promulgated, so that we can start their implementation," Ion Chicu added.

TRM.MD recalls that, after three plenary sessions postponed due to lack of quorum, the Government led by Prime Minister Ion Chicu assumed responsibility on July 9 for four draft laws that provide for changes to the state budget. The main changes provide for a 30% increase in salaries for health workers, starting with September 1, the granting of a single allowance of 700 lei to pensioners, as well as support for farmers who have suffered from this year's drought. The opposition had 72 hours to file a motion of censure.
