Political parties must present the report on financial management by 1 April

Political parties are required to submit to the CEC the annual report on the financial management of the political party for 2018 by April 1, given that the deadline of 30 March is a day of rest, the CEC announced in a press release quoted by IPN.

The report will be submitted to the Commission in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Political Parties and the Regulation on the Financing of the Activity of Political Parties. Subsequently, they will be made public, being placed under the heading "Financial Reports" on the official website of the institution www.cec.md.

Political parties whose annual revenue or expenditure exceeds one million lei are required to audit the financial management reports at least once every three years. The audit report, together with the annual report on the financial management of the political party, will be sent to the Central Electoral Commission, and if the political party has received state budget allocations, to the Court of Auditors.

According to the CEC, nine parties have earned annual revenues over the last three years of over one million lei. Among them is the Democratic Party of Moldova, the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova, the Liberal Party, the Political Party "The Socialist Party of the Republic of Moldova", the Political Party "Sor", the Political Party "Our Party", the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova, the Political Party "Liberal Reformator Party" and the Political Party " Party of Action and Solidarity ".
