Peter Michalko: The need for reforms in Moldova did not go away with the Sandu Government

The head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova Peter Michalko, argues that "the need for reforms in Moldova has not gone away with the Sandu Government", Radio Moldova reports.

"Any new government in Moldova must continue these changes, which must bring better life for citizens and better state institutions for citizens", said Michalko.

In his opinion, "it is important not to resume the negative practices regarding corruption schemes, illegal schemes in the economy, smuggling, schemes that have been stopped."

The head of the EU Delegation believes that much to this effect will depend on the new general prosecutor.

Peter Michalko said that the EU admits the results of the competition and the procedure for appointing the new prosecutor Alexander Stoianoglo. He stressed that one of the priorities of the new prosecutor should be the investigation of fraud in the banking system.
