The PPDA urges the democratic forces to identify a common candidate in the presidential elections

The Dignity and Truth Platform (PPDA) calls on the democratic forces to strengthen their efforts and to identify a common and non-political candidate in this year's presidential elections. The PPDA states that "the serious political situation created in the Republic of Moldova requires an extremely serious and responsible approach to the electoral processes".

"Thus, we will all demonstrate that we truly care about our country, that we are able to give up our own political party pride, that the promises made to citizens are not exclusively electoral, but have the sincere, unaltered desire for personal wishes, to release the Republic of Moldova from the burden of captivity of institutions by a single individual, to eradicate the danger of the country to serve to foreign interests and the enormous risks to the security of the Republic of Moldova, to build a rule of law and to create normal living conditions for every citizen of Moldova, of our country,” reads the PPDA appeal.

In a broadcast on Radio Free Europe, PAS leader Maia Sandu stated that the ACUM Bloc will participate in the presidential elections with only one candidate, who can win a victory in front of President Igor Dodon.

TRM.MD recalls that in the 2016 presidential elections, Maia Sandu was the common candidate of the PPDA and PAS, obtaining a score of over 47% compared to 52% of votes, a score obtained by the PSRM candidate Igor Dodon.
