PPDA proposes measures regarding an "exceptional state in the economy"
The Dignity and Truth Platform (PPDA) believes that the Government must recognize an exceptional state in the economy, by urgently developing a package of measures, "which will prevent the throwing of the private environment into a generalized state of insolvency, mass dismissals and dramatic bankruptcies".
"We asked the Government to examine the possibility of rescheduling payments or extending the deadline for calculating and paying VAT, income tax, social and medical contributions and other state payments, without applying penalties and late payment increases; exempting the business from some taxes; compensation of salary payments for employees made redundant during the termination of economic activities; extension of the deadline for the presentation of annual fiscal reports (2019), monthly and quarterly, as well as financial statements, statistical reports, without applying sanctions; creation of special funds to support small and medium-sized enterprises; relaxation of bank lending policy by lowering interest rates,” reads a statement of the PPDA.
The PPDA considers these requests justified and acceptable in the context of the support that the state must offer to the business environment in the conditions of the pandemic crisis.
