PPDA will not back the Law on pension indexation

The Dignity and Truth Platform Party (PPDA) reiterates its intention not to back in Parliament the law on pensions indexation. MPs of PPDA announced about it in a press conference and said that they will submit another legislative initiative to change the formula of pensions indexation.

“The PPDA reiterates its firm intention not to support this antisocial project in Parliament. Moreover, PPDA will not back the so-called indexation of the pensions proposed by the ministers of Dodon, but will put forward a completely different legislative initiative on modifying the pension indexation formula by applying the pensions coefficient of the annual inflation rate for the previous year”, said the leader of PPDA, Andrei Nastase.

According to Andrei Năstase, in order to implement this initiative, "PPDA intends to use the available financial means, after legislative changes, which would allow a part of the National Bank's profit to be paid into the state budget".

We remind that, regardless of size, all pensions will be indexed twice a year, on April 1 and October 1. The procedure of pensions indexation was modified by a decision of the Government. Thus, the Government intends to introduce the "principle of equality".
