An honorary Consulate of Moldova, inaugurated in the German city of Kassel

An honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova was inaugurated in the city of Kassel, Federal Republic of Germany.

The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Kassel aims to contribute to the development of relations between the state of Hesse and the Republic of Moldova, especially in the economic, commercial and cultural fields, as well as to provide information assistance in case of need to Moldovan citizens. mentions the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Oleg Ţulea, present at the inauguration, highlighted the importance of strengthening the collaboration with the German Länder, in particular, in the sphere of commercial economic and attracting German investments, Hesse being one of the largest and most prosperous Länder with a population of 6.5 million and a GDP of 330 billion US dollars. The head of Moldovan diplomacy welcomed the appointment of Christopher Posch, a lawyer known for his work in the media and real estate, as honorary consul.

Mark Weinmeister, Secretary of State for European Affairs, stressed the attention paid by the Hessian authorities to boosting relations with partner countries and noted that the presence of the Honorary Consulate will essentially contribute to the intensification of trade and economic relations with Moldova.

In his turn, Ambassador Oleg Serebrian referred to the role of the Honorary Consul in the development of cultural, academic and scientific relations, spoke about the potential for collaboration between our country and the German Länder, especially in industry, small and medium enterprises, agriculture and of the provision of services.
