37 people hospitalized with food poisoning in Soroca
At least 37 persons, among whom nine children, were hospitalized with food poisoning after they attended a requiem meal in Holoşniţa village, Soroca district on June 15.
The state of the patients is medium grave. Asked by IPN to provide details, vice director of the National Food Safety Agency Ion Toma said the food that included perishable products was provided by a catering company based in Drochia town. This was put on the table later than planned.
More than half of the attendees were poisoned and needed medical care. Inspectors of the National Food Safety Agency and specialists of the Public Health Center took samples of food for lab tests. The catering company stopped work for the period of the investigation.
