Case of rabies in the Ungheni district

A positive case of rabies in a fox was recorded in the Boghenii Noi village in Ungheni district, the case being confirmed by the laboratory, the National Agency for Food Safety announced.

Rabies is a mammalian viral infectious disease caused by the rabies virus, found in the saliva of infected animals, Radio Moldova News reports.

Among the primordial and effective measures to optimize the fox population, including fighting rabies, include the organization and stimulation of the hunting of these animals and their immunization against rabies.
