Two police officers died following road accidents

Two employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs lost their lives as a result of serious road accidents. One occurred on the evening of Monday, February 24, and the second this morning.

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), the first accident occurred on Monday, February 24, at around 8:00 pm on the M3 km 14 route, at the entrance to Băcioi commune, Chisinau municipality. On the spot, the police officers established that a car driven by a policeman, 38, lost control of the steering wheel, thus buffering itself in an indicator, later being thrown in another car. As a result, the policeman died instantly.

The second tragedy took place this morning, at 04:28, on the Chişinău-Ungheni route, near the village of Panasesti, the Straseni district. A 35-year-old policeman driving a "Mitsubishi Outlander" lost control of the steering wheel and slid off the path into the sewer, obstructed in an obstruction and then reversed over.

As a result of the impact, the car caught fire, the driver being stuck, and the passenger, aged 18, was thrown through the windshield.

As a result, the driver died on the spot, the body was found charred in the car, and the passenger was transported to the hospital in Straseni, with various injuries.

In both cases, criminal proceedings were initiated to determine all the circumstances.
