Sale of pork was resumed in Cahul

The commercialization of the pork was resumed in the specialized hall of the Central Square of Cahul municipality. It is only allowed to sell pork brought from areas not affected by African swine fever, reports Radio Moldova.

At the request of ANSA, in Cahul, where new outbreaks of African swine fever were registered, a new meeting of the district commission for exceptional situations was convened on August 1, which decided to cancel the previously imposed prohibitions and to allow the marketing of pork in the Central Market.

"The prohibitions regarding the sale of the pork were removed ", said the vice-chairman of the commission, Vladimir Calmac.

The Central Market Enterprise administration complied with the requirements.

"We have been asked to create filters at the entrance and exit of the meat hall. We cannot sell meat from Cahul. The economic agents have complied and they bring the meat from other areas that are not dangerous ”, said the manager of the market, Igor Schin.

During the period when restrictions on pork were imposed in Cahul, the price of this product doubled.
