Several households in the town of Comrat, flooded by rain

Tonight's rain wreaked havoc both in the capital and in several towns across the country. In the town of Comrat, 17 households, a shop and a car repair shop were flooded. In some places, the water level has reached up to 30 centimeters. In nine households, water flooded homes, damaged furniture and appliances. The Comrat Town Hall Emergency Situations Commission is to estimate and compensate for the damage, reports Moldova 1.

Several streets in Comrat turned into real streams tonight. The water eroded the pavement, and the craters formed were over a meter deep.

The consequences of the rain are visible. All the sewers are flooded, water has flowed through the yard and stopped in the garden. Rain is forecast and it will flood us again. We will be left homeless, without a garden ..."

The Commissions for Exceptional Situations are to estimate the damages registered as a result of the abundant precipitations.

"Heavy rain has caused damage. Seventeen households were flooded, water also entered homes. All the mud that was on the plains was brought here," says the interim mayor of Comrat, Sara Gheorghe.

Floods following heavy rains also took place in other localities in the country, such as Ialoveni, Anenii Noi, Hânceşti, but also Chisinau. Rescuers were urgently called for pumping water from basements and cellars in the village of Horesti, but also Gratieşti. The help of the rescuers was also needed in the town of Codru, but also in the town of Durleşti, where the rescuers worked to evacuate the water from the basements of three blocks. The mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, wrote on a social network that after tonight's rain, all the teams are working on the city's streets, in order to remove the consequences caused by the heavy rainfall.
