Flood safety measures
Two dams were strengthened at Soroca, and at Vadul lui Vodă, rescuers continued to install the 1,000-meter metal dam. In the village of Vălcineţ, Ocniţa, rescuers and locals also built a protection dam, Moldova 1 reports.
At the same time, a drainage channel near the Dniester River was consolidated. Firefighters used the motor pumps provided to evacuate the water and prevent flooding of buildings in the recreational area of the beach.
The employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations announce that they will constantly monitor the risk area. The State Hydrometeorological Service issued an orange code for raising the water level on the Prut and Nistru rivers, with the danger of floods in Briceni, Edinet, Camenca, Rezina, Criuleni, Grigoriopol, Anenii Noi, Slobozia and Ştefan Vodă districts.
