"Good Roads" program, in full swing in the north of Moldova

Several roads in Moldova have been repaired, after the first tenders for contracting entrepreneurs were held. In all, about 900 kilometers of road will be modernized within the "Good Roads 2020" program. These are roads from 1,200 localities. In Drochia district, in five localities, the works are already in full swing, reports Moldova 1.

"Fill the pits, make a leveling layer up to five centimeters and then put a layer of asphalt four centimeters thick. Portions will be arranged 50 cm and 10 cm thick along the entire length. Sustainability according to European practices is a one-year guarantee, but on long routes durability must be up to 25 years ", said Valeriu Pânzari, technical manager.

The asphalt is delivered by a local factory, which works at a capacity of 80 tons per hour.

"In Drochia district there are 28 localities, of which eight will be asphalted. A sum of 30 million 334 thousands lei was distributed to the district, which is from 900 to one million lei in each locality ", said Ion Răilean, director of the enterprise.

Residents are happy to finally get rid of the pits.

" My car broke down very often. Now the road is perfect”; "We are glad that they make it, it was very difficult for us before"; "We are happy, both drivers and the villagers,  it is an extraordinary thing," the people said.

The "Good Roads 2020" program provides 30 million lei for the renovation of the routes in Drochia district.

"It has already been decided with the inhabitants to make either the white or asphalt version. Furthermore, it is our duty to go daily to monitor the work done by the companies that have won this tender. It should be quality for 5,6,7,8 years ", said Ion Dascăl, vice-president of Drochia district.

The "Good Roads 2020" program provides for the repair of over 900 km of roads in Moldova. The total amount allocated by the state is one billion 375 million lei.
