Raids in the markets, barber shops and parks of Soroca

Even though the statistics of infections with the new type of Coronavirus still show worrying figures, many people, but also economic agents have completely forgotten about the protection measures. In just one week, 11 barber shops, a medical institution and a sports center were severely sanctioned by law enforcement and closed for admitting violations of epidemiological rules. In Soroca, the commercial market could become a real source of infection, as people do not wear masks or use them incorrectly and do not respect social distance. To prevent this, all markets, barbershops and amusement parks were checked by law enforcement, Moldova 1 reports.

The main square in Soroca looks like a real anthill. In the rush for shopping, people seemed to forget that there was a danger of the virus and rushed to the stalls. Even if they are outraged by this, the sellers shrug helplessly and say they cannot force buyers to abide by the rules of protection.

Law enforcement officers came to visit traders and buyers who ignored the rules. They say they have so far limited themselves to warnings, but say that if the rules are still ignored, they will share fines.

"Raids have been initiated to prevent economic agents about the need to comply with the rules of protection and prevention of Covid-19 infection and we inform them of the decisions of the extraordinary national public health commissions, the criteria that need to be met," said the National Agency inspector for Public Health, Ludmila Baraboi.

On the other hand, the market director claims that all protection measures are observed in the territory, but the sellers prefer to sell on the street, outside the space arranged for trade.

"In the market, everyone is wearing masks, everyone is wearing gloves, the restrictions are the same, because we have to maintain order, we have to maintain discipline. Everything must be in place, but they do not want to listen and have gone out. There are 30% available stalls in the market," declared the head of the agri-food market from Soroca, Mihai Mînzat.

And the barber shops were caught by the law.

"The state of emergency in public health has been extended until July 15. All the clients disinfect themselves, they are with masks, they are responsible," say the hairdressers.

In Soroca district, more than 570 people have been infected so far, 18 of whom have lost their battle with the disease. TRM.MD recalls that this week, the specialists of the National Agency for Public Health inspected over 190 economic agents.
