The competition for the position of member of the SCM has been extended
The contest for the position of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) was extended until March 3, because only two files out of the 18 received opinions and comments from the civil society and the media - told a press briefing Vasile Bolea, president of the Legal, Appointments and Immunities Committee, reports Radio Moldova.
"According to the regulation, the deadline expired yesterday for anyone interested to present expositions on the candidates. There are currently 18 candidates who have submitted the documents. In the commission, exposures were received from interested persons, civil society, citizens, the media for only two candidates. Today the question was raised regarding the extension of this deadline to see more opinions for these candidates who have registered for the contest,” declared the deputy Vasile Bolea.
TRM.MD recalls that following legislative changes adopted in the Parliament, the number of SCM members has been extended from 12 to 15. It is required in order to exclude incidents or blockages in activity, in particular, the quorum.
